I Was a Teenage Feminist

I love this little video clip.  I love the cute bits of her younger self, and I love that she wants to find her feminism.
You go girl!  Hope you got there.  :)

  1. Eliza, that was me before the sex change!!!!!!!!!!

Mind you I am a little older, just a tad, than the lady in your clip. I can buy into her young hopes way back in the 70's. I can just remember my ideals too in the late 60's and early 70's. WE ALL HAD HOPE!!!!!!!

Now, what did happen to me??????????

  2. WOW!! I saw that and I just had to reply. I too grew up in those times and am currently 50 years old. I guess I was lucky and do feel my feminism exists. I am fortunate to have been brought up in those times and have a strong sense of myself regardless of what is thrown at me on a daily basis. I know this is going to sound "Anti" feminist but I do believe that women are working too much. They are depending on the media to babysit their children. Especially their little girls. Just going out to work everyday and bringing home large sums of money is not going to teach our daughters how to acheive a sense of self-worth and fulfillment. True fulfillment in becoming the "Woman" you want to be takes alot of work and education. My daughter is currently 19 years old.I look at the world around her and all of the "messages" being shoved in her face daily from the social networking to even the skewed programming we call news and I feel sorry she has to wade through so much trash to find herself.
